Live action short film based on a chance encounter between a woman and the infamous Al Capone.

THE PROCESS

Shot on 16mm film, The Lift is a story about a woman who inadvertently gives a ride to the legendary Al Capone. Based on a story in Capone’s biography, I conceptualized and developed the premise to correspond with Women’s Suffrage. Set in 1927, I created the female protagonist as someone who went to prison for her right to vote. If she wasn’t afraid of jail, would she be afraid of Al Capone?
